Do exhaust fans remove humidity?

As a result of excess humidity with over period of time the rooms / spaces are likely to feel stuffy and would even smell musty. Too much humidity is known to lead to other concerns such as disruptions in structural integrity, pest problems etc. Hence as a first step to this problem start with an exhaust fan.
